Arsenal of beauty, bag of tricks, all-things-essential… AKA the makeup bag.
I’ve spent years perfecting this baby and I think I’m finally content with all of the products that I use. (Remind me of this statement the next time I find myself in Sephora.)
It’s honestly difficult trying to find products that look good, feel good, get along with your skin and fit in your budget. Do the stars have to align for you to come across your favorite foundation or mascara? Well, kind of…
There is a fun side to buying and trying new makeup… Remember digging through your mom’s makeup when you were younger to try all sorts of different things? It’s exciting and inspiring! But as for your every-day-look, you have to find some essentials that you can rely on.
My Essentials & Where To Buy Them;
MAC STUDIO FIX FOUNDATION
(Shade c3.5) $29
I love the coverage of this foundation. It is definitely full-coverage but it doesn’t feel cakey or too heavy. It doesn’t crease or get gross throughout the day. I have oily skin but I feel like this helps to mattify it. You can get more info or purchase here.
I’ve also used Urban Decay Naked liquid foundation and Tarte Amazon Clay foundation if this doesn’t work for you!

KAT-VON-D LOCH-IT CONCEALER
(Shade L11) $26
I’m always in search of a good under eye concealer, so when I tried this one I was PUMPED. It is full-coverage and creamy; everything that a faithful concealer should be. You can find it here.
DOUBLE ENDED BRUSH
A good foundation/concealer is only really as good as the brush that you use to apply it with. This one kills two birds with one stone; foundation and concealer all in one. Saves space in your makeup bag and works like a dream. It is super soft, which is perfect for the under eye area.
You can get this brush here.
(Shade Seduction) $30
I love this beautiful shade so much. It’s perfect for rosey cheeks. It stays put all day and has the ideal amount of shimmer to it.
You can shop all of the shades here.
There is always a fine line between natural glow and glazed donut. This is my favorite highlighter for just the right amount of highlight.
I got it through Ipsy, but you can find it here.
TARTE TARTEIST MASCARA
This is my favorite. mascara. ever.
It is the blackest mascara I’ve found (not all blacks are created equal). It gives my lashes length and volume. It’s perfect. I’ll never switch away from it!
You can find it here.
BOLD BROW KIT
I used to use an eyebrow pencil which I was pretty happy with until I came across this! I think a powder vs a pencil gives me more of a natural brow fill.
This is another Ipsy find, but you can buy it here.
LUSH ROSE LOLLIPOP
When I don’t feel like wearing lipstick and just want a basic balm, this is my go-to. It has all natural ingredients, it smells amazing and it’s cute and compact to throw right into my bag.
You can find it here.
MAC DAZZLEGLASS LIPGLSS
(Shade Baby Sparks) $17
When I still don’t want lipstick but I want more than just a balm, I use this MAC lipgloss. It isn’t super sticky like most glosses and it gives you the perfect wet shimmery look.
You can get it here.
NARS VELVET MATTE LIP PENCIL
(Shade Cruella) $27
I saved the best for last! I love love love a good red lip. This is my favorite right now. I love the name, I love the color, I love how it goes on like a crayon, I love how long it lasts. It’s perfect! I’m also a die hard MAC lipstick fan, so I would easily recommend any of those as well.
You can get this one here.
